“Loneliness isn’t something to fix—it’s something to care for.”

—The Oneliness Voices

Transforming loneliness from a silenced 'you problem' into a shared human experience—one that holds the power to reconnect us through mutual understanding, care, and support. One voice at a time.

Exploring the personal and universal dimensions of loneliness through the power of stories, deep listening, and shared experiences.

The Oneliness Voices is a global, collective audio storytelling project dedicated to humanizing loneliness.

Through intimate, voice-only contributions, the project invites people from around the world to reflect on their experiences of loneliness and connection.

This is about reframing loneliness—not as something to fix or avoid, but as a part of our shared humanity. Together, we’ll explore the soft power within loneliness to reconnect us to ourselves, each other, and the world.

Through this project, stories will unfold in various languages, weaving together a global collage that honors the deeply personal and universal nature of loneliness.

Why it matters

In a world that tells us to push past loneliness, avoid awkwardness, and “fix” ourselves, we’re losing sight of the beauty and lessons it can hold. By embracing this often-stigmatized experience, we can move through the current moment of disconnection, disorientation, and division within the lives of individuals, communities, and the world.

“In my culture, we don’t really talk about loneliness. It’s considered private, almost taboo. But I’ve realized it’s not just my secret; it’s everywhere. It’s in the way people avoid eye contact, the way they scroll endlessly on their phones. We’re all longing for connection, but we’re scared to admit it.”
